Community & Charity

Steps Centre (2024)

Oakland Joinery have supported this fantastic cause, donating £100 via their Just Giving page. We urge anyone to donate what they can to the link below:

We are currently working on Bowman Academy, a new build school for Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd, located near the charity's HQ in Shepshed.

'Steps' is a Centre for Conductive Education based in Shepshed, Leicestershire. Steps helps children with a wide range of conditions affecting movement including motor and developmental disorders. Steps takes a holistic approach to the child's development focussing on the abilities of the child creating a pathway to independence and working in partnership with parents.

How You Can Help...
It costs £220,000 a year to keep our service running, this income comes solely from fundraising, grants and above all generosity.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who supports Steps and helps us to continue providing vital support to our families.

Chance - Changing Lives

Crewe (2023)

Whilst working for Bowmer & Kirkland on the new build bust station, Oakland Joinery & Interiors fitted a kitchen FOC for ‘Chance Changing Lives’

'Chance' are a charity powered by volunteers, battling homelessness and poverty, with hope, help and a hot meal.

They are changing lives, one difficult step at a time.

We are coming together as a community, to give disadvantaged people a fighting chance.

Men in Sheds

Crewe (2023)

Oakland Joinery & Interiors and our suppliers recently supported 'Men-in-Sheds (Crewe)' by donating £200 worth of plywood. A truly great cause!

'Men-in-Sheds', (recently taken over from Age UK Cheshire) are self described as a youth club for the over 50s - helping people connect, build new relationships and to find a purpose in life whilst learning new skills such as woodworking, metal working and computer based learning.

This donation was part of our Social Value initiatives in connection with Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd, and the new-build Bus Station in Crewe we will be commencing in October 2023. Thanks to Arnold Lavers and Katarzyna Kowalska for your support.

If you (or anyone you know) are interested in the scheme take a look at the link, facebook page and video below!

Middleport Matters
Stoke on Trent (2023)

Our friends at 'Middleport Matters' recently reached out to us through Stoke-on-Trent City Council for assistance with their latest community project and Oakland Joinery & Interiors responded.

We provided labour and materials free of charge for internal storage racking, including retrofitting a new lock to the door.

This will allow Middleport Matters to relocate all their summer activity equipment into safe storage.

Looking forward to seeing their project progress with plans to demolish old bowling pavilion to make way for a brand new community hub! 🏗

Check out the great work Middleport Matters are doing:

Peter Pan Centre Charity

Stoke (Dec. 2022)

To get in the Christmas spirit.... Oakland Joinery & Interiors have donated two hampers to our local friends at the Peter Pan Centre for Children with Special Needs.

One of them being a 'sensory friendly' hamper to help raise awareness for those who may find this time of year challenging.

What a fantastic cause!

Alleyne's Academy
Stone (2022)

Oakland Joinery & Interiors recently helped our friends at Alleyne's Academy in Stone (Staffordshire).

We supplied materials and labour FOC to design, build and decorate this custom bookshelf. Big thanks to our Project Manager, Neil Carr.

We all need to do more to help our communities especially in difficult financial times - it was great to be a part of this project!

Edgeware (2021)

Alongside the joinery package at newly built, Saracens High School in Edgeware, London for Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd & the Department for Education supply chain...

Oakland Joinery & Interiors were invited to assist with a social value project for 'Mill Hill Library & Foodbank' in the local area.
This included the renewal of decking, fencing, gate, a new poly-carbonate roof system and even a planter at the rear of the building.

Despite the poor weather, we're very proud of the team for getting stuck in with some very tidy joinery on display.

On behalf of Oakland Joinery, our very own Robert Deacon completed the Potters ‘arf Marathon with a sub 2-hour time.

A great achievement! More importantly, all proceeds were donated to The Dogs Trust via Roberts ‘Just Giving’ page which totalled a fantastic £475!
